Here is a slideshow that I made of photos that I took of Sinarmas World Academy. Wow! Words can't describe it. It is like being in a resort not a school. I feel so lucky to be able to be a part of this amazing 21st Century learning space. I will coordinate the use of technology in the school and also teach the Grade 5 class. That's great because the laptop program begins in Grade 5 and I have always wanted to be able to use laptops as a learning tool. Grade 5 is the last year level in PYP so we will do the Exhibition as well!
My partner teacher is Hugo and he is so talented. He was the Vice-Principal of Sekolah Tunas Muda! He has so many ideas and is already planning for the UOIs.
Just look at the beautiful buildings! People are asking me to show a photo of the computer lab ... Well it's very, very, very BIG! If you watch the slideshow you will see it. Do you understand? The whole school is a 'computer lab'. Get it? The whole campus is Wifi so I can teach computers anywhere on the grounds - even in the garden. You see every student from Grade 5 - 12 has a Macbook and every teacher has a Macbook. The younger grades share a set of Macbooks of one set between four classes. That means that they can use them everyday.
I think that my favorite corner will be the Koi pond, or the Topeng Cafe or the Lotus Lounge ... Hmmmmm
