Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Quizzes

Hi Grade 5,
Do you think that you know a lot about Charlie? Well prove it and try out these quizzes. http://www.triv.net/html/Quiz2/quiz3777.shtml
http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/charlie/quiz.html

I have been to visit your blogs today and many of you still need to write the Charlie description. I must say that I am very impressed so far reading what has been written. Well done Grade 5! You are writing in paragraphs and including more detail.

How about we make something really cool - a video podcast? I could edit it on my Mac. Each person could choose a chapter from the book to retell. You could draw a picture about your designated chapter and I will record you reading your recount about that chapter. We could make a retelling of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I know how to format it so that you can play it on a video ipod. It will look like a virtual book with turning pages. What do you think? Please leave a comment. This could be done during English lessons.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Description

Please write a description about Charlie Bucket and post it on your blog. You can include pictures. Don't forget to use consistent tense and paragraphs. Make sure that you comment on 5 of your friends blogs about their Charlie character descriptions.
Don't forget to read Chapters 11 - 15 this week.

Googlepages Checklist

Dear Grade 5,
We are getting closer to finishing our Googlepages websites. Here is a checklist of what you need to include:

Home - introduce yourself and explain about what is in your website. Some pictures would be good. Don't forget UOI title and central idea.
Simple Machines - a page about the 6 simple machine types
Simple Machine and Compound Machine Report - A page with your reports and pictures
What is in a CPU? - a page about your CPU work
Radio Circuits - A page with a labeled radio circuit, take it off this blog and add labels in word and then screen print it.
Radio Parts - a page with your radio part report
The Billy Cart Project - A page or series of pages about this special project. Include: blueprint, diary pages, photos (even the field trip ones) and final report.
Reflection - A final reflection about this UOI and include comments about making a real website

I will try to help you online after school as much as I can as you know that I can't get time in the school labcom.

The Dangers of Chat

Hi Grade 5,
You might have tried out a chat box on your blog. These chats give an understanding of the unpredictability of the Internet. Many people in the world are kind and polite but not everybody. If you have a chat box on your site I recommend erasing it. I put one on my Masters blog as an experiment. Most of the comments there are silly. Some people even put swear words. So, if you have a chat box please erase it now.
Mrs. Jane
Remember, there have been over 6000 people that have looked at our blogs. That's a lot!
